‘Save Our Homes’
Sir, — I would also like to express my appreciation of the “Save Our Homes” campaign. I attended three of the seminars and found that they offered material that was constructive and workable. Criticism has been levelled at the Christian aspect of the campaign; such a criticism is valid only if a more successful way can be offered. It is hard to imagine the amount of suffering that has been caused to thousands of men, women and children by our high marriage breakdown rate. So far we have not found a successful alternative. — Yours, etc., MRS JANET HARRE. May 23. 1977.
Sir,—There has been much comment about the “Save Our Homes” convention. May I share my gratitude with all who participated in this mammoth conference organisation. As a mother of four, recently arrived in New Zealand. the convention was a wonderful, enriching experience. Usually housebound. I seldom have the opportunity to meet with adults and feel free from home responsibilities. On the conference day my toddler was welcomed into the well-equipped creche. My three older children had an en.'ovable day arranged by “Save Tur Homes.” The value of home stability, and the privileges and responsibilities of each member of the familv. were transmitted to our children. From one mother who faces the daily challenges with renewed satisfaction, a sincere thank you.—Yours, etc., ROSEMARY CHEN. May 23, 1977. [No further letters on this subject will be accepted.— Editor]
