Tourists sought
A tourist-promotion team from the Bay of Islands will visit Christchurch this week to try to persuade southerners that the far north is a pleasant place to visit at this time of the year. A stand in Haywrights’ Colombo Street store will offer smoked marlin and Bay of Islands orange juice to passers-by. Displays featuring the area’s tourist attractions will also be set up in the store.
The team of 14 persons will be led by Mr G. Cooper, chairman of the Bay of Islands Public Relations Committee, and will include Mr K. Tarlton, an underwater explorer who has a marine museum at Waitangi.
Boxing—The World Boxing Council has ruled that Ken Norton and Jimmy Young must fight each other to decide which of the two can have a crack at the world heavy-weight title against Muhammad Ali.
