Epidemic slowing

NZPA-Reuter Melbourne Melbourne’s typhoid epidemic seems to be slowing down. The medical superintendent at the Fairfield Infectious Diseases Hospital, Dr John Forbes, says that only two more persons suspected of having the disease have been admitted to the hospital since Monday. Of the 49 persons now in

[the hospital, 18 are being 'treated as definitely having 'the disease, and the rest are I either unconfirmed cases or •suffering from other ill•nesses with similar symptoms.

Dr Forbes says that the incubation period for the bacteria should end on May 19. and that he is hopeful that all possible cases will have been traced by then.
