Farewell to Glitter
“Gary Glitter,” the acme of a manufactured pop star, created all sorts of hysteria in the early 19705. It culminated in “glittermania,” which swept Britain and several other countries, pushing Gary Glitter’s rocords high up the world’s pop charts. Unlike most pop stars, Glitter decided to quit while he was at the top. His announcement stunned his fans, but thousands of them turned up for a farewell concert. This is the subject of “Goodbye From Gary Glitter,” on TVI on Saturday afternoon.
