Boy’s body found

The body of a boy was recovered from the Avon River, near the Estuary, on Tuesday only a few metres from the spot where he disappeared after a canoeing accident on Sunday. He was David Roy Bea ven, aged eight, of 17 Merrington Crescent, Aranui, who is believed to have drowned after his canoe capsized in about 3m of water.
