‘Life-as-usual’ for winners
It is very much life as usual for the members of Rangiora “Bulls-eye syndicate.” They won the $60,000 Golden Kiwi jackpot No. 24, which was drawn last week.
When the principal of the syndicate, a family group, was spoken to by “The Press” on Wednesday evening, he agreed that he had been the holder of the winning ticket. But he asked that his name should not be published. Apart from taking time away from his work to visit his bank manager on Friday to place the ticket in safer custody, work and life were continuing very much as usual, he said. The man and his wife have lived in Rangiora for about 25 years. Although both were very thrilled, they were taking their success very quietly and it would make no
difference to their way of life, they said.
No plans had been made to take a special holiday and he intended to continue working for a few more years yet.
