Car-parts men meet

Automotive parts employees of the Storemen and Packers’ and Retail Shop Unions have met to discuss progress on their award claims.

The storemen’s union president (Mr Conway Jack) said, “The automotive parts industry workers are gravely concerned at the lack of progress on current award negotiations, while they are hopeful that agreement will be reached in Wellington on May 2 or 3.

“If no settlement is reached further meetings will be called to discuss the possibility of stronger industrial action being taken,” he said.
