International ‘Russia has death ray’
XZPA-Reuter London The Russians have developed a “highenergy beam” like al laser that “disintegrates anything which enters' its path.” a London newspaper says.
“When directed from Earth’s surface (it) can destroy incoming missiles and i j satellites together with their | (nuclear warheads,” says the “Daily Telegraph” in a report by its defence corres-i pondent, Claire Hillingworth. She writes that “this vital development in the nuclear arms race” was disclosed by Major-Genera! George Keegan. recently retired head of intelligence of the United States Air Force. “Russian scientists are. understood to have harnessed nuclear energy, through the medium of charged particles, to produce a laser-type beam which disintegrates anything which enters its path,” she writes.
