Five skiers achieve standards
PA Hamilton Five water-skiers, three women and two men, achieved world qualifying standards in the first round of the national water-ski championships on Lake Karapiro. A jump of 26 metres enabled the Aucklander, Anne Wiggiesworth, to join the other New Zealand -kiers who had previously qualified. They are Anne Carmichael. Linda Taylor I and Paul Wiggiesworth (all I from Auckland) and Greg' Scott, of Waikato. Unless there is a real upset in the second round of rhe slalom, jump and tricks, Scott looks certain to win ihe men’s championship for the second vear running, but he has already announced he v.i’l be unavailable to go to Iralv 'with the New Zealand team.
