Pay claim not settled
A meeting between execu::ves of Dunlop New Zeaand, Ltd, and the Canterbury Branch of the Engin-' ?ers' Union was adjourned’ last week without a settlement being reached. The meeting was held to discuss maintenance engin■ers' claims for pay relatvity with rubber workers.
A further meeting will be held on April 12. The dispute led to rolling strikes by the engineers and suspensions of rubber workers at Dunlop’s Woolston factory. The engineers returned to work at midnight on April 2 after a request by the Minister of Labour (Mr Gordon).
