The Department has an establishment of 23 i academic posts, and offers a wide range of courses for the B.C.A. (Bachelor of Commerce and Administration), B.C.A. (Hons), M.C.A. and Ph D. degrees. - Applications are invited from persons in the fields of accountancy or finance. Other things being j equal the preferred applicant would be someone from within these fields specialising in decisionmaking processes and in the information require- : ments of decision makers in various sectors of society. SENIOR LECTURESHIP OR LECTURESHIP IN ACCOUNTANCY These positions offer teaching opportunities at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Research support in various forms is available. The teaching covers the role of the law generally in society for B.C.A. degree students, with more specialised legal topics ! (including taxation) for students in accountancy. RESEARCH FELLOW IN CRIMINOLOGY The position is within the Institute of ’ Criminology which was established in 1975 under the Directorship of Dr J. L. Robson. The Fellow will be required to study the relationship be- ‘ ■tween alcohol drinking and violent offending from ~ the angle of any discipline within the social science field. A specialist qualification in criminology is not essential. LECTURESHIP IN ECONOMICS The successful appointee will be required to take part in undegraduate teaching (including firstyear courses) but there will be considerable 1 opportunity for specialisation in teaching as well ’ as in research. In addition to a full-time teach- s ing staff establishment of 22, the department in- • eludes an Industrial Relations Centre, an Economic •' Planning Unit, and an autonomously run Economic I History section.
