New building society appointments made
1 The Registrar of Building ■ Societies has confirmed the [transfers of engagements [which will merge the Otago, [Christchurch Mutual, Gisl borne, and Citizens (formerly New Zealand - Auckland) permanent building societies. [ The merger started on 'April 1, and the societies are ■ now under the name New [Zealand Permanent Building j Society, which has assets of Imore than S3OM. ; The society’s head office Jis in Dunedin, but business I will continue to develop on [a national basis. I The following directors i have been appointed: Mr B. J. Naylor, formerly chairman I of the Otago Building Society. and managing (director of Naylor Love Construction, Ltd, who becomes chairman. [ Mr R. K. Baker, previously a director of the [Christchurch Mutual Build'ing Society who is elected to the board, as is Mr M. D.
