Carpet price increases
PA Auckland Carpet price increases will begin today with two ranges increasing by 15 per cent to 24 per cent, according to wool content. The price rises were authorised for recovery of increased costs. An Auckland carpet retailer said other manufacturers were expected to raise their prices within the next few weeks. The new prices meant the whole-house cost for average-quality carpeting would rise from about $l2OO to $1350. The cost of rubber underlay rose last week by 15 per cent.
