Tanner to play again
The AU Black prop, Kerry Tanner, will not now retire from rugby. Tanner has decided to continue playing for the New Brighton senior team, after announcing several weeks ago that he was quitting all rugby. An All Black for the last three years. Tanner is concerned about the predicament of his club team strength this season, which is why he reconsidered his decision. However, it is unlikely that he will be available for any other football.
Cricket.—The visiting Fiji cricketers lost by 53 runs to a combined New Guinea side in the first match, at Lae, of their Papua New Guinea tour. The Fliians had lost nine wickets for 137 at stumps, after the combined side was all out for 188.
