Allegation of multiple rape
NZPA-Reuter London A Libyan Embassy official in London has been questioned by British police after two women alleged that he raped them at knifepointThe Libyan Ambassador (Mr Mohamed Almismari) said that the official had been held for several hours, but released when it was discovered he was entitled to diplomatic immunity. The Ambassador denied the women’s story.
The two women, aged 32 and 33, told detectives that they were spoken to by the embassy official, sitting in a car, as they left a night club in the West End in the early hours of Thursday morning. They agreed to go back to his flat in Kensington. Once inside, they said, the official pulled out a knife and ordered them to strip, he then raped each one three times in what they alleged was an hourlong ordeal.
As soon as the official let the women go they went to the local police station. “I have heard this account, but it is not right. I know this man and he would not do it,” said Mr Almismari.
“It is possible they are framing him, because I understand from him that they demanded money which he refused to pay.”
