Old soldiers given liquor
PA Auckland The Ranfurly War Veterans’ Home, Mount Roskill, has been given a van load of liquor for nothing — from the Rod Stewart show in Auckland. The private security firm at the Western Springs concert told people who brought liquor to the show either to take it back to their cars, or to hand it over, on the understanding that it would not be returned. Most decided to hand over their stocks, and about 20 dozen cans and bottles of beer and about three dozen bottles of wine and spirits, were taken to the veterans' home.
