CATTLE AND SHEEP MAN IS PRESIDENT
A man who has been showing cattle at the Methven A, and P. Association’s shows for more than 30 years is this year’s president. He is Mr D. Findlay. Mr Findlay came to New Zealand with his parents in 1930 and settled in the Methven district. Later
sheep, which he has shown at Canterbury shows for many years. Mr Findlay’s father, the late Tom Findlay, was also well known for his Jersey stud. When Mr Findlay returned to Methven four years ago he took up a 14-acre block on the out-
skirts of Methven to maintain his stud sheep, and became the local County Council water ranger.
He is also superintendent of the Methven St John Ambulance Brigade and is a life member of the Ashburton Fanciers’ Society, another activity in which he has been successful.
Mr Findlay has been a member of the Methven show committee for the last 14 years.
