| P. F. Meier’s win over T. |W. Dixon in the singles final at South Brighton was by ithe same margin as his subsequent win in the cham- ! pion-of-champions final — a 1 single point. It was a close I battle throughout, with both players in top form. Dixon and Meier, in partnership with P. Dixon and ,G. L. Stanley, have taken I the fours title. In the final I they beat B. P. MacManus’s team of G. Roberts, J. Roberts and G. Crockett. j ■ Dixon and Meier are also close to another title. They l will meet M. Hayes and I. Anticich in the pairs final. D. Wadman advanced through the colts draw with a string of convincing wins and in the final he beat E. Archer. I $ Sp B. J. Smith, with his 1 brother K. Clayton-Smith playing lead, has won the! pairs title at Linwood. In the final they beat F. Bur-!
gess and C. Lyons (s), 19-16. Lyons led 5-3 on the fifth end and 10-6 on the tenth. But then the Smith brothers took charge and they went on to a deserved win. A sponsored triples tournament at Linwood last Saturday resulted as follows:— Russell green: N. Williams. D. Collie and R. Ward 1, D. Potter, R. Kimber and B. Drury 3. Redpath green: R. Lulham. H. Berry, W. Graham 1, C. Lennon, W. Fitchett. K. Watson 3. A colts tournament on ; Sunday was won by two Christchurch-Richmond M.SiA. teams, (he skips being C. Anglem and B. Hecker. G. Slringer, in his first season of bowls, has won 1 the colts title at Burnham Camp and he was also the ■ lead in the champion four. The four was skipped by B. | Smith and the other members were B. Ahfield and P. Jensen.’ K. Heritage won the; singles with two lives and E. Adams and M. McCulloch
I were also undefeated in taking the pairs title. J. Swift was untroubled to retain the singles title at New Brighton when he met J. MacKenzte in the final, j Swift was in great form and ihe ran away to a 21-7 victory. The colts title has gone to E. Crockett, who comfortably beat R. McCormick in the final. The junior singles has been a first-class competition and in one semifinal O. Burnett and B. Kelly played 36 ends before Burnett got the decision by a single point. However, in the final Burnett was beaten by R. Stokes, who won with his last bowl. South Brighton and New Brighton plan to get together and stage a combined tournament on Easter Saturday and Easter Sunday.
