Peer thinks again

NZPA staff correspondent London The thoughts of the Earl of Denbigh and Desmond about emigrating to New Zealand appear to have been a passing aristrocratic whim. The 33-year-old Etoneducated peer announced last October that he would like to start a new life tn New Zealand because “things are coming to a pretty pickle in Britain.” He talked it over informally with the chief migration officer at New Zealand House and was invited to submit a formal application for a migrant’s visa. But an official at the High Commission has confirmed that nearly four months later no application has been received. The Earl himself, who had said earlier that he wanted to go to Feilding, the North Island town that bears his family name, does not appear willing to talk abou‘ tire situation. He has been "out” to callers at his luxurv home in Fulham, in South-West London, this week and has not returned telephone calls.
