Factory ban to continue

[writing and sent to Mr Mc[Crory. who has said the black 'ban — stopping goods from Centering or leaving the factory — will continue until ithere is a satisfactory agreeiment on redundancy pay. The Auckland-based company gave the workers the (minimum one weeks notice [on February 17, and made no .offer of redundancy pay. Although it was not legally bound to pay redundancy money, the workers were unhappy that the company made no offer to negotiate, and j were also upset about the! short notice. The workers, mostly' women. qu'_ the factory on! Tuesday three days before itj war due to close, and the Trades Council imposed the ’black ban.
