Having won twice more in the meantime she comes into today’s set-weight race with a substantial advantage over [those with comparatively modest records. And she
should want for nothing on the score of horsemanship. 1 She will be ridden bv ,lim • Pankhurst, who knows bis Wingatui better than any, other rider tn the race. Lady Aristoi showed some prowess as a front-runner in winning over 1400 metres at Gore in the third race of the series. The 1600 metres at Wingatui will make heavier de ntands on her and nun h might depend on whether the others opt for a casual pace until half-way. After today'* race the remaining events in the serie« will be staged at Nelson, Rangiora, and Rici arton. c oncluding with the Warstep ■ Stakes on the final dav of the Canterburv Jockey Club's .
