PA Auckland An intensive preparation has been scheduled for this year’s Kiwi team to ensure that they will go into the international rugby league series fitter than artv national side in recent years. The New Zealand Rugby League decided yesterday that a squad of 30 players will be chosen on April 11 to attend a five-day training camp at Waipu from April 25-29.

After break-up of the camp a New Zealand XIII will be chosen to play a southern zone team at Christchurch or Wellington on May 7. Following this first preliminary match there will be a further contest for the New Zealand XIII against a Northern Zone selection at Auckland on Tuesday, May 17. The final selection of the New Zealand Kiwi team to play Australia in the first match of the international series against Australia will be made after the second build-up match.
