Big field in road race for women
A field of 37 competed In the first six-mile road race for women held in Canterbury over a two-lap course from Mathers Road. The runners, more than half of whom are married with children, showed a high standard of fitness. In spite of some hard racing they finished fresh and recovered quickly.
