Pupils returning to Phillipstown

More than 1200 former' pupils will answer the roll! call on Saturday at the centennial celebrations of the; Phillipstown School. They will come from as | far away as Perth and Suva; for the week-end. The centenary will start I on Friday evening with a' get-together and on Saturday former pupils from out of Christchurch will be welcomed by the Mayor (Mr H. G. Hay) and Mr D. Wilson, a former pupil and chairman of the Canterbury Education Board. The member of Parliament for Christchurch Central (Mr Bruce Barclay) iwill also speak. The school bell will be; rung and the centennial cake; iwill be cut bv the oldest; 'male and female pupils, Mr' ! and Mrs Dawber.
