30 trains cancelled

PA Wellington The Wellington suburban rail service returned to normal just after 11 a.m. yesterday, af’.er a two hour and a half stop-work meeting which forced the cancellation of nearly 30 rush-hour trains.

The meeting, called to discuss a bonus payment for drivers on suburban lines and involved over 200 railwaymen, and meant that most trains after 7.30 a.m. had to be cancelled.
