Without doubt, the "Clitheroe Kid” has never been replaced as radio's favourite boy. In Britain the adventures of the Kid ran for 16 consecutive series over a period of more than 14 years and totalling 279 programmes, establishing a record as the longest running situation comedy show in 8.8. C. history.

At its peak, almost 11M people tuned to the adventures of the “Clitheroe Kid.” The 8.8. C. has now reissued 26 of the best programmes, a series which will begin on the National Programme on Saturday afternoon.
