Status move discussed
The Waimairi County Council’s decision to leave the Counties’ Association, and to seek city status, has been discussed at a private meeting between council The association’s partv comprised its president. Mr J. M. Somerville, the local ward chairman. Mr C. N MacKenzie. and the secre itary. Mr T. M. McKewen. The county chairman. Mr |D. B. Rich, said after the i meeting that there had been a useful exchange of points of view. No decisions were reached, but there would be more discussions in the New Year, he said.
