PA Wellington For the first time a New Zealand jockey has won an international race during an Atnan racing conference. On Tuesday. Bruce Compton rode the favourite. Sholey, to * three-length victory in the Ro\al Hong Kong Trophy 'l2uonv at the Madras Racing Club’s meet“’fholay carried 57.5 kg and made most of tne 'running, initiating a double for Compton, who gained a chance ride in the next race after a jockey had been injured. Compton’s second winner was the 9 to 1 shot. Words ef Wisdom, which carried 49.5 kg and won going away. The crowd of 30,000 gave Compton a warm option.
