Oamaru. 6804 W Electricity CHEMICAL STAFF FOR THERMAL POWER STATIONS THE Department is seeking people with the following qualifications and experience: (1) Bachelor of Science, N.Z. Certificate in Science or equivalent, and; (2) Experience in chemical maintenance of steam power plant or other similar industrial process equipment. To supervise and monitor extensive process equipment at the following stations: MARSDEN Power Station, 24 miles south-east of Whangarei, adjacent to Bream Bay. Two 120,000 kilowatt boiler turbinegenerator units, each rated at close to 453 t/h of steam at 103 bar and 538 deg. C. Marsden “B” will be commissioned during 1978 and will have one unit of 254,000 kilowatt capacity and steam conditions of 124 bar, 540 deg. C. main steam and reheat steam to 31 bar; 540 deg. C. MEREMERE Power Station, about 40 miles south of Auckland. Six 300,0001b/hour boilers and seven 30,000 kilowatt turbine-generators operating at 41 bar at 454 deg. Duties Inelude analysis of boiler water, rain water, condensate and feed water, supervision of water treatment plant, fuel and lubricating oil analysis and technical investigations of corrosion problems.
