Reappraisals on quiet Australian markets

Australian stock markets closed on an unsettled note in quiet trading yesterday. As news of the 2 per cent revaluation of the Australian dollar filtered through the market’s advance was halted. Key export-oriented mining and industrial shares were jolted by the announcement, and lost almost all their gains. ; Observers thought inIvestors realised that they I would have to get used to changes in the dollar, as; ; envisaged at the time of the; j recent devaluation. i CRA had a 5 cent! gam at 290 c but Peko-Wall-| I send lost a similar amount j 'at 390 c. !
