Switchboard short-circuits
A short circuit in a telephone switchboard caused a minor fire at The Princess Margaret Hospital, last evening.
Though there were no flames, the switchboard room filled quickly with smoke. The Fire Service responded to a call at 7.40 p.m. with seven appliances. The problem was solved by disconnecting the power to the switchboard.
