Here again in 1980

New Zealand had been reaffirmed as the country where the world ploughing contest would be held in 1980, Mr I. B. (lan) Blair, of Outram, said this week. Mr Blair returned from Sweden last week after representing New Zealand at the meeting of the governing board of the World Ploughing Organisation. Next year’s world championships will be in the Netherlands on the site of a permanent agricultural exhibition in the Flevohof. The ploughing will be in ground that was formerly in the Zuyder Sea. West Germany will be the venue in 1978 and it has been decided that Northern Ireland should be the location in 1979.
