Mistimed leap
In Paris a Soviet ballerina, Tania Afonia mistimed a leap on stage, fell 16ft into the orchestra pit and ended up in hospital. The 25-year-old dancer, in the touring Moisseliev Ballet Troupe, fell during a practice session. Agents for the troupe said the ballerina was discharged from hospital and is expected to dance again in a week. —Paris.
