Mobil journalist award made
PA Wellington The 1976 Mobil overseas award in journalism has been won by an “Evening Post” political correspondent, Mr T. Garnier. The award this year, offered in association with the New Zealand Journalists Union, addresses itself to the drug problem as one of the most serious and disturbing social issues of our time.
Mr Gamier, who holds a Master of Arts degree from Auckland University, is on the Parliamentary press gallery. In 1972 he won the N.Z.J.U./Dulux award for critical and investigative journalism. In the course of his threernonth study four to research stories in a number of general areas, he hopes to visit Hong Kong, Thailand, Great Britain, Sweden, Canada, and the United States.
