Dome Edith Evans

Dame Edith Evans, First Lady of the British stage, has died peacefully in her sleep at her home near London. She was 88. From her London debut in 1924, there was not a year until World War two without her starring in a West End play. She created four of George Bernard Shaw’s major roles. She refused to appear in films until she was 61, then made a whole new career of them. — London.
