Rubber men to meet
Canterbury rubber workers will meet at the Repertory Theatre tomorrow morning to decide whether to accept or reject an offer from their employers. This results from three days of talks between union representatives and employers on a new voluntary agreement. If the workers accept the employers’ offer, the agreement will be lodged with the Industrial Commission fof ratification.
Details of the agreement have not been released. The talks were resumed last Friday after three months of stalemate, during which time the workers were on a four-day working week in protest against the breakdown in the talks held early in July.
