Man gives $l000 for Wadsworth

The most spectacular leap tn the collection of money for the Ken Wadsworth Testimonial Fund was made yesterday afternoon.

A ven prominent New Zealand businessman, who wished to remain anonymous, staggered the organisers when he presented them with; a cheque for $lOOO. He has been a generous supporter of cricket in the past, and has shown his enthusiasm for the game and its players on many occasions. But this contribution was by far the largest made so far, and it took the fund to $6756. Wadsworth, for seven years a fine test wicket-keeper-batsman, died in August at the age of 29. Testimony to his ability, his popularity, and to a general appreciation of his fighting qualities has come from many pans of New Zealand.
