Everest bid
The American bicentennial expedition to Mount Everest will try to put 10 climbers on the summit of the i world’s tallest peak in two attempts early next month, i the expedition’s leader; Mr Philip Trimble, has said in a message to the Nepalese foreign ministry. Sherpa guides will establish the remaining two high-altitude camps necessary to make the two summit attempts. The final camp xx’ill be set up at 26,200 ft on the South Col, which links Everest with its sister peak, Lhotse. — Katmandu.
