Richards in form

PA Brisbane Queensland boosted its morale for the coming Sheffield Shield season with a convincing 67-run win over an invitation eleven at the Brisbane Cricket Ground yesterday.

The West Indies batting star Vivian Richards paved the way with a classic 104 in 111 minutes helped by a hardhitting 52 from Martin Kent.

Queensland, batting first, scored 283 for the loss of seven wickets in the compulsory 40 overs and then dismissed the invitation eleven for 216 with three overs to spare.
