Day burglars net $350
Property worth about $350 was stolen in two daylight burglaries in Christchurch on Wednesday. Thieves escaped with a cassette recorder, cassette tapes, shoes, clocks, and cameras,- worth a total of $270, from a house in McGregors Road, Bromley. Entry was gained through an unlocked laundry window. A flat in St Albans Street was broken into by smashing a window, and a transistor radio and coin collection stolen.
Two hamburger bars in the city were burgled some time on Wednesday night. Cigarettes worth $159 were stolen from the Apex Food Bar in Durham Street, and $lO worth of cigarettes were taken from the Dixieland Hamburger Bar in Riccarton Road.
