Companies increase
PA Wellington There has been an increase of 4901 companies in NewZealand since August 31, 1975, the Commercial Affairs Division of the Justice Department has said in a statement.
There are now 104,350 {companies. Included in this ;figure are 638 overseas companies compared with 512 in 1975. There were 612 new companies registered throughout New Zealand during August, 1976, compared with 730 in August, 1975. There were two new overseas companies registered in 1976 compared with five in 1975. During August. 1976, receivers were appointed to 22 companies and seven receivers ceased acting. The August 1975 figures were nine and seven respectively. Thirteen companies. were reported as being subjects of the Crown orders to wind up, and 31 went into voluntary liquidation. The 1975 figures were 28 and 29 respectively. During the month 142 companies were dissolved either by liquidation, being completed, or their names being struck off the register. This campared with 489 in August 1975.
During August. 1976, 111 companies increased their nominal share capital by a total of $21,828,168. In August. 1975, there were 162 increases.
One company decreased its nominal share capital by a total of $BO,OOO during August, 1976. In August, 1975, there were two decreases.
