Weak mining market
Share prices were down in most sections of Australian stock exchanges yesterday. Miners showed some of the day’s heaviest losses. C.R.A. slumped 12c to 298 c, and Pancontinental lost 70c at 1150 c. M.1.M., Hamersiy, Peko Ampol Exploration, Woodside, Utah, and W.M.C. showed losses ranging up to 6c each.
Cons Gold dropped 10c to 252 c. Poseidon closed at 95c in Melbourne for a net 6c gain, after sinking to 80c earlier in the day. Bougainville. A.M. and S., and B.H. South held their ground, and A.A.R. rose a cent to 115 c. B.H.P. fell 4c lower at 876 c, and C.S.R. retreated 8c to 490 c. E.Z.I. fell 10c to 350 c, and Lend Lease showed a similar fall at 280 c.
