Church protest to Chile urged
Members of the World Council of Churches have been asked to inform their congregations of the worsening human rights violations in Latin America, the council has announced.
The churches are urged to lodge strong protests with the Chilean authorities against the case of a Chilean lawyer (Mr H. Monteleagre), who, .it says, has been imprisoned without trial since May this year. Mr Monteleagre served in the Chilean diplomatic service and was the Chilean Charge d’Affaires in London, the council says.
