Cricket man retires
A long-serving Christchurch Suburban Cricket Association administrator, Mr Wally Ditford, retired from office at the association’s annual general meeting last evening. Mr Ditford was elected to the management committee in 1956, and was a vicepresident in 1962 and from 1971 to this year. A wellknown umpire, Mr Ditford was also on the grounds subcommittee for 14 years and its convener since 1970.
