Parliament’s diary
The annual reports of the Labour Department, the Department of Social Welfare, the Council for Recreation and Sport, and the Department of Health were tabled.
One notice of motion was given. Ministers answered 18 questions.
The committee on privilege reported that Mr M. J. Minogue (Nat., Hamilton West) would have been guilty of a minor and technical breach of privilege had it not been the practice of the chairman of the transport committee to ieport its proceedings to the news media.
Action was taken to open the proceedings of the local bills committee to the news media. The House continued with discussion of Estimates.
