Young Victorian driver for Addington, Methven
; Trevor Dove, a 22-year-old (Victorian trainer-driver, will (be seen in action at the New ’Brighton Trotting Club’s (meeting on Saturday and Ithe Methven Trotting Club’s 'meeting a week later. I Dove is due in ChristIchurch tomorrow and he will (stay for more than a fortnight as his prize for winning the equivalent of Addington Raceway’s Maurice Holmes Trophy, for probationary drivers. Dove, a member of one of Victoria’s best-known trotting families, is a son of Don Dove, who raced a champion in Monara, a son of the New Zealand-bred horse, Dignus. Trevor Dove trains a team of about 12 at Kilmore, just outside Melbourne, and he is one of few reinsmen of his age to hold a metropolitan horseman’s licence. Dove will have a very busy time in New Zealand. He will stay with Peter Jones, the winner of the Maurice Holmes Trophy last season. Jones had a' fortnight in Victoria, during which time he met Dove. His stay in New Zealand is being sponsored by the Victorian Trotting Control Board and the three Christchurch trotting clubs.
