Ivil galloped several of hisi J scond day candidates this morn-i I ing and they went pleasingly. Working today on the inside: trial, which provided fairly good p footing, Ngapunawai accompanied! Fille de Jour for 1000 metres in L I min 4.4 sec. the last 600 in 39sec. ’ Ngapunawai is very promising P yet he might find 1360 metres a i bit short on Saturday.
Mr Million and Stylish Sovereign ran 1000 metres in Imin 6sec. the last 600 in 40sec. Mr Million was in front at the finish and might be the pick of this pair in the Spring Handicap. Scotch Sovereign and Brad ran 600 in 37.65ec after schooling over the small hurdles. Scotch Sovereign ran poorly last week but is capable of much better.
Paper Gold and Kells were timed to run 1200 metres in Imin 22.65ec, the last 600 in 40.6 sec, and Credit Note worked over an easy 800 metres in 54sec, the last 600 in 40,5 sec.
Sony, which is engaged in the hurdles at Wanganui on Saturday. completed 1200 metres in Imin 24.45ec, the last 600 in 41.4 sec, and Purple Penny completed 600-in 41 sec.
Cook Strait and Pride of Kentucky ran one of the best gallops of the morning, recording 51 sec for 800 metres, the last 600 in 38sec. Pride of Kentucky could go well in the Sewell Handicap.
Miss Supreme and Grando completed 1000 metres in Imin 6sec, the last 600 in 40sec. Miss Supreme is speedy and has a chance in the Long Acre Handicap.
Bally Lucky was timed to run 1000 in Imin lOsec and Star Guard and Quick Deal recorded 54sec for 800, the last 600 in 40sec.
