All Blacks and tear gas
Sir,—K. Neill’s inference is not my implication. My letters referred to one incident in one country. I substituted “a police state” for “South Africa,” a substitution he does not query. No doubt, should a similar incident occur during an All Blacks’ tour of, say, Uganda, or another country in those huge sections of the world that Mr Neill so sweepingly and simplistically writes off as police states, I will make another of my jokes.—Yours, 6tC JOHN BALNEAVES. September 14, 1976. [This correspondence is now closed.—Editor]
