$30,000 'offer' to kill Kennedy
I NZ.PA Springfield One of three people chai ped with conspiring to murder Senator Edward Kennedy hasaid that lie was offered $30,000 to kill the sole surviving Kennedy brother. An official police spokesman said, that it was unclear whether the alleged plot was idle boasting or reallv serious. A top police official, who asked not to be identified. warned that it might all be idle, drunken talk. Robert White, aged 42. listed as a resident of the Salvation Army’s rehabilitation centre in Springfield in Massachusetts, was held in lieu of $50,000 bail. Sandra Rondeau, aged 37, of Westfield. and’David King, aged 31. of Springfield, were released on personal recogni-
sance by a district court clerk. Earlier, their bail had been set al $50,000 each All three were to appear in the Springfield District Court today.
King was slaving at a small house with his former wife. Describing himself in a telephone interview as a selfemployed radio and television lepairman, King said he met While on August 8 at the Salvation Amiv centre and two days later was offered a chance by White to make big money.
King quoted While as saving, “You can make $30,000 altogether. All you have to do is kill Senator Kennedy
You get $5OOO down and after the job you get $25,000 ”
