Act at club indecent
PA Auckland A stripper, Ingrid Sommers, aged 26, who was said to have earned $2OO a week at the Pink Pussycat Club in Karangahape Road, has been convicted in the Magistrate’s Court at Auckland on a charge of performing an indecent act as part of her routine. She disputed part of the police version, admitted the charge and most of what the police prosecutor, Sergeant R. Higgins, said. Mrs G. C. P. A. Wallace, S. convicted the defendant and remanded her to September 24 for a probation report and sentence. Sergeant Higgins said that on August 17 plainclothes policemen watched the defendant’s act at the Pink Pussycat. Seen afterwards, the defendant said she had been performing the act in Australia for the last six years. She had said she had had a sex-change operation 18 months ago. A police doctor had certified her a female. Counsel said that the manager of the club had undertaken not to include the indecencies in the defendant’s act again. i
